How long does the course take to complete?

The basic food safe and food handling certification courses take approximately 8 hours to complete. More advanced and higher level courses can take up to 16 hours to complete.

Does everybody who works in the restaurant need to take the course?

No, every province has different requirements. Some provinces require that only 1 in 5 candidates are certified in food safety and food handling.

Do parents who cook at home take this course?

Yes, many parents and caregivers also register and receive food safety and food handling certificates. Some parents and care-givers want to ensure they have a healthy and safe environment for preparing food at home.

How much does the course cost? Does it include tax? Any hidden fee’s?

Our training partners offer these courses at the lowest prices in your region. They have no hidden fee’s and offer the courses at a flat rate. Course cost ranges depending on province and type of certification. Cost ranges from 55 to 80 dollars.

How do I register for a course?

To register for a course select the course location from the side or main menu. You will be directed to one of our training providers in your location. Our training partners offer the highest quality courses for the lowest prices.

What should I wear to the course?

You will be moving around and taking part in activities. Dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes.

Is the course difficult to complete?

No, over 95% of people pass the course without difficulty. 100% attendance and being well rested will definitely improve your chances of passing.

Do I have to write a test?

Yes, in order to successfully complete the course you have to receive at least 70% on a multiple choice test with approximately 55 questions.

When do I receive my certificate?

Candidates that successfully complete the course will immediately receive a food safety or food handling certificate that meets provincial standards.

Can I take this course in a different language?
